Sorry about the lack of posts on this blog. I tend to procrastinate when it comes to blogging.
Version 0.44 of GlovePIE has been a bit slow, since I tried to add too many features at once, and some of those features are still half finished. Some people who requested support for new hardware disappeared before they could do the tests I needed on that hardware.
Also, my girlfriend doesn’t like me working for free and not getting paid, and is keen for me to start charging for GlovePIE. Unfortunately, that means I can’t add features to a free version unless I never want to charge for those features. So I’m not sure what to do.
And I decided to write a new virtual reality library for windows, to allow people to write VR applications easily that support the full range of new input devices. But that has taken lots of time.
And I’ve been distracted by elections and other political things.
But mostly I’m just lazy.
Anyway, sorry.

Carl,
Thanks for all your work.
Can I suggest some things.
1. Please don’t mention your girlfriend and her concern about money. That’s your private business and it makes you look “unprofessional”.. Your reasons are your reasons.
Fans of glovepie realise you spend a lot of time and effort on glovepie without any income return, so far. We appreciate your efforts.
The issue about income needs to be determined on two fronts, glovepie and non-glovepie.
If glovepie is a hobby then do it as a hobby, and work more slowly on it. Spend more time on other aspects of your life, but in a balanced way.
2. Glovepie Updates
Please let us know what you are intending to fix or add in glovepie and your current estimated progress for each feature.
It doesn’t matter when it gets delivered, just that we know you are listening to us and making incremental progress. Keep us engaged and on-topic.
3. Concentrate on particular hardware.
Its important to get popular hardware sorted first and the marginal hardware sorted last.
If you spread your efforts too wide, then nothing much gets done and peoples hopes go down.
Tell us what your emphasis is or your “glovepie mission statement”.
I think the best would be to ask a bit more for donations… The donation button is really small and a bit hidden.
Any ETA for the next update? :3
